1.) How can I order a conversion and how is the order processed?
2.) Will my conversion be covered by a warranty?
3.) I have a DSLR and want to use it for astrophotography. Which conversion is worthwhile?
4.) Can I use the camera for daylight photography after conversion for astrophotography, and will the auto focus still work?
5.) Do you sell cameras that have already been converted?

1.) How can I order a conversion and how is the order processed?
You can order a conversion by e-mail only. The processing of the order is as follows: You send us your DSLR with a short informal note (giving your conversion requirements and your address). You will receive a quotation for the work after we receive your camera at our house by mail. Payments are made by bank transfer (prepayment), cash on delivery (plus €7,-, available only in Germany), or prepayment via PayPal. After successful conversion, we will send your camera back to you.

2.) Will my conversion be covered by a warranty?
Because we are very sure of our order processing and the quality of our camera modifications, we  provide not only excellent value for money but also a generous warranty up to 5 years for our work – at no extra charge:

- Your camera will be returned to you functioning properly and professionally converted, if the camera was functioning properly before the conversion.
- A 3-year warranty against the image quality being affected negatively by the inner filter parts (i.e., against problems such as glass blindness, new embedded dust, glass that is cracked due to tension, etc.)
- A 3-year warranty for full electronic functionality of all loosened plug connections and solder points (including in the sensor cleaning function if one exists).
- A 5-year warranty for the stability of our focal correction for flange focal distance
- A 5-year warranty for secure setting of built-in filters (all conversions).

Important note: All warranty claims are valid only if the converted DSLRs have been used appropriately!

3.) I have a DSLR and want to use it for astrophotography. Which conversion is worthwhile?
The following information refers to all those models that have a filter unit consisting of several parts and a sensor cleaning function (e.g., 400D, 450D, 1000D, 1100D, 50D,...).
The fact that the filter unit has several parts allows us to remove only the part that is responsible for “red blindness”. This ensures balanced colours in photos. The IR/UV pass filter remains in the camera and renders additional filters unnecessary. Installing an additional BCF filter would not increase efficiency. Conversion using a BCF filter costs more and offers results in the day and astronomical photography that are only similar to those of a camera without an additional filter.

4.) Can I use the camera for daylight photography after conversion for astrophotography, and will the auto focus still work?
This information is applicable to all models that we convert. With the conversion, the red sensitivity will be increased drastically and the colour balance in daylight photographs will be disrupted. There are several solutions to this problem: The first solution is already incorporated in your converted camera: We adjust the white balance for you, which you can use in several imaging modes (TV, AV, P, and M). With this manual white balance, you can achieve adequate results in normal photographic situations during daylight. Other possible solutions are lens filters or a so-called clip-in filter that rebuilds the curves of the removed filter. The auto focus is only indirectly affected by the conversion. In those models whose filter has several parts that can be converted without an additional filter, the distance between the image sensor and the bayonet will be exactly corrected to within 1/250 mm to compensate the misaligned auto focus. Camera models with a built-in (ACF/BCF) filter do not need to be corrected in this way. This solution ensures an exact auto focus, regardless of whether the camera is converted with or without an additional filter.

5.) Do you sell cameras that have already been converted?
This question can be answered with a short “no”. We specialize in the conversion of cameras sent to us and not in selling converted cameras.
